Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Gracie Gato?

I’m a writer, journalist, and unapologetic truth-teller. I cover politics, social justice, and the messy overlap between power and the people it crushes. I’m also a full-time caregiver to my neurodivergent son, Adam, and the founder of Adam’s World — a children’s media project that celebrates autistic kids through storytelling, TV, and books.

What kind of activism do you do?

I fight for:

  • Domestic violence survivors — especially those silenced or erased by legal abuse.

  • Family court reform — so custody and contempt motions aren’t used as weapons.

  • Palestinian human rights — because humanity comes before party lines.

  • Neurodivergent advocacy — ensuring autistic kids are protected from exploitation, both medically and politically.

  • Government accountability in New Hampshire — because corruption isn’t a conspiracy when the receipts are public.

Why are you fundraising?

I’m currently raising funds through my GoFundMe to stop the foreclosure of my home, rebuild stability for my son, and keep my work alive.
Every dollar goes toward:

  • Keeping a stable home for Adam (his entire sense of security depends on it).

  • Continuing my investigative work and public advocacy.

  • Producing Adam’s World so autistic kids can see themselves as heroes.

Where can I read your work?

  • Substack: My latest pieces — political exposes, personal essays, investigative deep dives. — including those that some would rather see buried.

  • Union Leader, Concord Monitor, Al Jazeera Opinion: Published op-eds and investigative features.

What is Adam’s World?

Adam’s World is my heart project — a children’s TV show, illustrated book, and novel series inspired by my son. It centers autistic, nonverbal kids as the main heroes, using empathy, superpowers, and time travel to save the day. It’s fun, inclusive, and designed for kids on the spectrum who are too often left out of media.

How can I support your work?

  1. Donate via GoFundMe — keeps the roof over our heads and the fight going.

  2. Subscribe to my Substack — even $7/month helps me stay independent.

  3. Share my work — repost articles, tell friends, make noise.

  4. Collaborate — if you’re a journalist, advocate, or creative, let’s talk.

Why do you focus so much on New Hampshire politics?

Because the Granite State’s political scene is a small pond with some very big, very shady fish. From lobbyists paying lawmakers under the table to systemic family court abuse, I’ve seen firsthand how unchecked power operates here. If no one calls it out, it becomes the norm.

Are you open to interviews and speaking engagements?

Yes — especially if it means shedding light on domestic violence, legal system reform, or media bias. You can reach me directly at gracie@graciegato.com.

What’s next for you?

Survive. Write. Expose. Create. Repeat.
In the immediate future, I’m:

  • Continuing my lawsuit against my ex-husband and his attorney for tortious interference, financial sabotage, and legal harassment.

  • Publishing new investigative series on New Hampshire lobbyist corruption.

  • Finishing the children’s book version of Adam’s World.
